Hello, One and all.
I've just started the long road to building a k1200rs sidecar outfit. Not my first sidecar build, but hopefully this should be a bit quick. Managed to buy a tatty, but sound 1998 1200RS for not much money, so ideal donor. There will be plenty of research (and questions) to be done. Firstly.. is there such a thing as an adaptor for the rear hub, to go from the K 5 bolt to 4x100 PCD? I don't really want to use smart car, as I will be on a 4x100 pCD front hub. If not, I'll just crack on with making one.

Welcome to the forum. Good to have another chair along for the ride.

I recomend you go to the forum's search feature and see what you find. I tried it by typing in 'sidecar adaptor' and got several useful responses. People have discussed the subject here before. Another thing, go to 'your own customisation or resto' and start a new thread there so it doesn't get lost for future readers in 'member's introduction', and we can follow your build. Also, type '1998 K1200RS' or somesuch into your signature line and it'll always be there for those who don't know which model you're referring to when questions are asked.

Cheers.

No use to you at all I'm afraid, but does your post infer that a Smart car wheel bolts onto a K1200 hub?
S'interesting that, not sure why, but it is.

hi, thanks for the replies. from the winter rallies I've attended, the bulk of the outfits using car wheels & tyres utilise 3 bolt smart car wheels, so, they being German, and the difficulty with the testing (TUF approval), I presume there will be smart car wheel to BMW hub adaptors for sale in Germany.
I'm wanting to use a mazda MX5 (zero scrub radius) hub on the front, so It makes sense to have all 3 wheels the same, if possible. hence the requirement for 4x100pcd adaptors.
