So, I have a 94 K1100 that's been sitting all winter. I started her up a few times and have been getting some intermittent stuttering. It's hard to describe, so I took a short video; you should be able to hear the occasional stutter (if that's the right term)

What do you think this could be? Im thinking injector, bad plug, or maybe something electrical :/

I'd call that a hiccup. Did it have a full tank of fresh fuel when it was put up for winter? I'd dump the fuel from the moto into the car tank and put fresh fuel in it.

Ditto on fresh fuel.

When did you do the fuel filter?  If water gets into the fuel filter fibers it can cause them to swell and restrict flow.

Modern fuel is crap.  It goes bad in a couple months as it sucks water out of the air.  It varnishes the fuel pump and the injectors.  Get that old fuel from last Fall out of the tank, and if you haven't changed the fuel filter this Spring, put a new one in.

Fill the tank with fresh fuel, if you can find it use non-ethanol and mix it with some dry gas and a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner.  Take the bike out and ride it hard for that first tank.  That should flush out any of the crap left from storage.

Next Fall, put the bike away with a full tank of non-ethanol mixed with Stabil and Techron.  If you can, try to start the bike and let it idle until it's warm(about 10 minutes) about once every week or two.  That will keep your battery charged and the oil circulated in the engine and transmission.  Circulating the Techron and the Stabil will keep the fuel pump and the injectors clean and limber.

Ditto on previous ...

I don't ride much but if the bike is going to be parked for any length of time, I use 98 octane. Probably don't need to.

When I bought a cheap whipper snipper / weed whacker (Sanli.... a Honda copy) the receptionist said that they recommended 98 because it was a more stable fuel.

What did she know?I thought - and then duly followed her instructions.

That was in 2000 and it hasn't missed a beat since. So now I use 98 in all my small engines...even the K100.

Just don't leave it with E10 / ethanol... a world of pain
