Uk owners , I have a oil leak from the oil filter cover 0 ring , looked at getting new O ring , about £1.50 odd , but they want £3.50-4.50 for post  Oil filter cover 0 ring 797640 

Anyone know the best place to get the 0 ring , have no dealers close to me !

It's a longshot but if you can find a garage that has a Loctite "O" ring splicing kit they might be persuaded to make one.

The post isn't a ripoff. It's large letter postage combined with the cost of a jiffy bag - £3.50 is about right (Motorworks?). I'd get three or four of the wee sods. In theory you don't need to change them that often but experience says 'that often' is every other filter change.

I beg to differ Dai , the size and weight of a 0 ring will go in a small envelope , price of a 1st class stamp is 70p say the wrap some A4 paper around it for protection , all in it should cost no more then a pound ! 

I may have a ring around today , see if they can send it to me like that , if not I will buy 20 , put the rest on e-bay at £3 each , free post  Laughing

It's "cheating" but another fix for a leaking oil cover O-ring is to get both surfaces really clean and apply a thin layer of RTV to seal it.
