I recently changed my clutch cable for a Venhill unit from Motorworks.

The bellows supplied seemed too small so I ordered the Motorworks rubber bellows,  item code CAA25866, and

then had to find a way to get the boot over the cable barrel.

Using a small length of 13mm copper pipe clamped in my vice,  I used a small set of external  circlip pliers

to open the end of the bellows, and slide it onto the pipe.

This takes patience, but it will go on the pipe.

It will stretch to the point where you think  it will split, especially at the smaller opening , but it didnt.

I lubed the rest of the pipe to move the bellows to the end ,  slid the pipe with the  bellows over the cable

and barrel, ensuring the barrel is at the bottom of the cable and then pushed the bellows off the pipe.

Took me longer to fit the bellows than it did to swap the cable itself.

Hope this helps someone

Bob

Did the same, but first heated the boot in hot water, and used siliconenspray to get the boot in place.

I don't worry about that boot. It serves no useful purpose.

I suppose it may help keep the cable from getting wet and rusting but a light coat of grease will take care of that.

I think it's just there to make measuring that 75mm distance harder when you do a clutch adjustment.
