Hi,
Installed my H4 relays and loom and very impressed so thanks to many for the rec. I’ve had to direct connect to the battery for now as I am unable to get the PC8 fuse panel to work, I have 12 volts up to the fuse but the relay stays silent on either battery connect or when powered through the switched line (which I have connected to the starter relay terminal). I’ve swapped in the horn relay and this can be heard to activate on battery connect, but otherwise doesn’t allow the fuse box to work.
I’m assuming therefore a relay fault, but can’t source one in Europe or identify a substitute.
I’m in contact with EB this weekend, but with postage times from Japan I thought I would try locally.
Does anyone know an EU source for the panasonic CB1ATM12V or equivalent?
Cheers, Stu

Stu - just turn the relay up and read the pin numbers off the bottom. I'm betting it's a bog-standard DIN 2 changeover relay - one you can get in (almost) any corner shop.

----- 87  ----
---- 87a ----
86--------85
---- 30 -----

If it's a power feed only, it may only have four pins (no 87a). You can use a changeover relay in its place, if that's the easy one to get. Should it be, by some remote chance, a DIN 1 relay (pins 86 and 30 reversed) PM me because I've got a shedload of them from various Ks.

[Edit] Yep - it's a bogo-standardo changeover relay. https://uk.farnell.com/panasonic-electric-works/cb1-12v/relay-automotive-spdt-14vdc-40a/dp/2503601. Go buy one somewhere in the gateway to the south. 25amp will do if you can't get 40amp.

Thanks Dai,
I’ll be sure to track down a spare.
As for the actual issue, it was me again. Using my normal flawless logic I had tapped the switched circuit into the starter relay using the front terminal of the relay on the flawed understanding that the rear would always be hot and therefore not switched.

Stu is an idiot, don’t be like Stu.

Now I’ve done it right it is worth saying that the EB kit is beautifully put together, my    headlamp performance is everything they said it would be and it takes out that risk area around the handlebar switches.

NB. For UK buyers at least, allow for a VAT hit from customs before it can be delivered.
