For some strange reason I have 4 tank bags....seem to have one for each K.

But the one that came with my 83 K100RS does fit my 97 K1100LT...a try again?

The K75/K100 tank bag bases have "hooks" on the sides that wrap around the seam of the tank - in front of the side/battery covers.  Since K1100s have side covers that go all of the way forward those hooks won't work on a K1100.

The K1100 (and K1 BTW) tank bag straps connect to these little brackets that attach to the tank.

If you don't have the clips that attach to the ears on the tank it's no big deal.

I removed the ends of the straps and with a piece of plastic tube made two loops with parachute cord to go around the the ears on the bottom of the tank.  After over 30,000 miles the loops still work very well.  One advantage is that I can compensate for the stretching out of the elastic in the hold down straps by tightening up the loop.

Good workaround. (I would've used black paracord though. Very Happy)

Heads up: Although all of the Multivario tank bags look the same and may have the same part number they don't all have the same zipper between the base and tank bag - even among tank bags for the same model bike. I have several K1100 tank bags and they don't all mix-n-match. This is probably because they come from different years' production runs.

Do check it because I also found that....so when I pack away a tank bag I pack the base inside it.

On the K1100 though I take off the side panels to fit the tank bag base to the tank in the same way as on the K100 and leave the 'ears' outside....looking at those photos the tank bag I got with the K1100 must be a K100 one as the hooks on the tank would mean the tank bag base would have to be shorter....I don't have those two hooks on my K1100.
