Cheers Tom,
Like a true K addict I purchased this one tyres unkicked. My first k75 and the seller is only 9 klms from here.
it looks rough with the quick and easy paint job and he talks it up a bit .   I will report back

won the auction with best offer at 1500 .
today the drama.....

"Sorry I will not sell it for 1500.....I didn.t realize that an offer meant I had to accept it....I thought I had the opyion….Sorry"

then

"If you want it for 1500 it will come less roadworthy and 1 months rego…..after 1 month I ancel the rego"

and
"1500 if you get your own roadworthy I will leave 1 month rego on bike"

I have told the seller to cancel the sale , I have lost interest.....   much to my disappointment but it is still available to anyone willing to navigate the sellers mixed messages

Report the prick to eBay they take a very dim view of that sort of thing.

I'm with Rick report him. When I won an aftermarket K rack on the only bid of $5.00 Au the item was suddenly lost. I gave the guy a bad report and then he kept ringing me trying to get me to withdraw the report. I had to threaten him with the police to stop him ringing.
Regards Martin.

I'm sort of confused here.

The way I understand the rules, a bid above the reserve, if there is a reserve must be honored by the seller, while an offer of any amount can be declined.  To top it off, I can't ever recall seeing the seller solicit offers on an auction, I thought eBay only permits buyer offers on Buy It Now listings.

It sounds to me like you were the only bidder and the auction did not have a reserve because the seller neglected to put in a reserve price.  Still, I would report the seller.

The painter of that moto should be flogged!

Before the negative feedback, since this moto is so close if you are still interested arrange a meet.
Look it over and if still interested in person negotiations have always been more favorable then through the Ebay in my experience.

As Volador said.

A deal is a deal. You only have to like the bike, not the seller.

Another one in favour of reporting him. I auctioned a Metz Mecablitz flashgun some years ago, starting at £0.99p. Retail, they were £120+ and heading north. I got £0.99p for it. So what? I quite happily wrapped it up and sent it off to its new owner because that's the way the cookie crumbles on an auction site. I didn't want it, which is why it was on ebay.

Also: a salutory tale on why you don't piss ebay off. A number of years ago there was a seller on ebay called ditchpimp1 (!!!) who had a 100% feedback rating and sold a whole range of hard-to-get Moto Guzzi parts. A number of times I went after something, only to find that within ten minutes of the auction ending, 'this item is no longer available'. A few of those and I figured it was because he wasn't getting the prices he wanted. After he did that to me for the fourth or fifth time (IIRC correctly it was a sump extension with external filter - Yamaguzzi will know about these. Normal retail then approx £130, my one-and-only bid was about a tenner). Thoroughly fed up with this behaviour, I reported him with chapter and verse for this item and suggested that they back-check on his previous auctions because there was a pattern here.

A few days later his account disappeared.

Laitch , is that the actual listing for the bike in question?

It's not an auction, I don't see "best offer" shown, and the Buy It Now is $1700, not $1500.  Beanoldboy said it was an auction.  I'm even more confused now, especially since it's said that he was told he won the bike for $1500.

How does eBay allow an item to be relisted if it was sold?  The bike appears to have been relisted and the relisting shows it being sold for $1700.

?????

It was an auction with a buy it now but once one bid is in the buy it now goes.
He may be new to eBay, I got caught when I sold a car about 10 years ago and had to honour the deal. I didn't lose money but sold well under what it was worth.

He may be new to eBay . . ..
He had 420 transactions before the first listing of that moto. It's all over now anyway.

three quarters,
there was a make an offer tab on the first listing.
I made an offer of a thousand, which was automatically rejected by the ebays .
made an second offer for twelve fifty,  auto rejection.
final offer was at fifteen hundred which was auto accepted, congratulations you've won the  bid, thank you pay now.
so I dutifully sent the Seller an email asking if cash or paypal was prefered ,  you've seen the reply.
The bike was very promptly relisted with the buy it now, no make an offer .

Even though he is not being as honorable as he should be, since it is so close I think it would be worth a look,  when he knows you're local, he might feel obliged to do the right thing. If not it could still be a bargain at 1500 without roadworthy. He seems confident the roadworthy will be cheap.

There's a reason it has 17 lookers an hour.

to be fair,

"thanks for your understanding cheers johno",

was the reply.
so honourable or not, he's polite.
I found my interest flaking away like the nasty blue rattle can jam oversprayed onto every surface will after a summer in the sun .
it would be nice to have those three spoke wheels though...

Yeah, because we're all compulsively clicking the link to see this rattle can masterpiece.

I don't know the current market for K's in OZ but I bet you that moto isn't going anywhere.
Give it a week if the owner is serious to sell he will be contacting you if he has any sense.
