Another way to repair the Hi/Lo switch after taking it apart is to use a dremmel like tool to carefully grind out the plastic housing around all of the electrical contacts.  Harbor Freight sells a Dremmel like took for a little over $10 that comes with many small cutting tools.  One of these tools is a small bur about 3 mm in diameter.  This tool works well to grind the switch housing.  I found that grinding about 0.010 inches or 1/4 mm works well.  This method avoids melting the plastic and pushing the contacts in further.

I live in Montclair, CA and would be happy to assist anyone repair their switch.
