I have a 1993 K1100 with a very slight fuel leak on the lower left side (I see here that this is very common). The tank on it uses the 130mm front mounting. I see the K100 uses the 90mm front mounting. Has anyone cut down the mounting pins on the K1100 frame and used a k100 second generation tank? There seems to be more of them available. Also I realize I have the smaller fuel pump in my K1100 tank. Does the larger K100 fuel pump run the same pressure? Thanks in advance for any help

I think the fuel pressure is determined by the fuel pressure regulator, don't know if the regulator is the same in a k1100.

Clean it off down to bare metal where it's leaking then take it to a competent welder and let him have a look.

The tank with the wide mounting is for the K1100 with the two top frame tubes ( LT after early 93 and all the RS models) and the two are not interchangeable as the pressing of the bottom of the tank is different.

Thank you yes the backbone of my frame splits off in 2 pipes from the steer tube. I have never had a K100 so I did not realize they were different. I guess I need to fix what I have or find a K1100 tank
