There is a local low mileage K1200rs for sale and I was just wondering if there was any thing in particular to watch for on these bikes?

Thanks

Make absolutely the ABS is working because finding a good used unit is close to impossible and repairs have a 2 year waiting list at Module Master in Idaho and he was the only place I could find to fix it and new is not an option any more.
I just bought a 04 GT and everything else is OK

It is just the linked servo brakes same as the R bikes of the era right? I have some experience with them and have either been lucky or my short change interval on the brake fluid helps.
Good point to see what the PO has done though cause you never know.
I guess an ABS ectomy would be the other way out. A shame to loose the ABS.

Wasn't there a change in the engine configuration around 2003/2004 with the introduction of the K1200S model and the end of production of K1200RS models?  BMW went from a classic K-bike configured flat four power plant with traditional gearbox to a more Japanese inspired traverse four configuration with a wet clutch and shared gearbox.  That may be a consideration if you're thinking of modifications to the design in the future.
