Has anyone tried to fit a snowflake front wheel in a K?
I am putting my old K front end into my R65 and want to keep the snowflake wheel.
Thanks
The axle diametre is much smaller (17mm) on a Type 248 Airhead, by far, than the average K bike (25mm), starting with bearing I.D. Then there's the axle spacers that'll need to fabbed up by your favourite machinist to get the spacing correct. Then there's proper disc brake alignment...not to mention diametre again as most R65 discs are 260mm (and five bolt) as compared to 285mm (and four bolt) on a K. There's also the spacing for calliper mounting if attempting to use the older Brembos (or oddball R65 ATE) from the R65 on the K forks. But that shouldn't stop you. Let the fun begin.
