Starting problems seem to be a popular topic. I have the same problem. 1985 k100rt. About 6 months my trans went south and just got another one. Installed it, put it all back together again. Fuel pump not working from the start button, but will from the battery and fuse block. I know the main ground is from the trans and also under the tank(cluster of brown wires) if my memory is correct, I thought I connected 2 ground wires to the neg. side of the battery. Is this right or?. Please help! I would like to ride again. Thanks

Yes, ground is the negative pole. Further follow the faultfinding from Bert's page.

Thank you,
I did as suggested and found a faulty wire from the coil. Repaired it and she fired right up. So I'll close this thread with a great deal of THANKS. Merry X-mas to all.
