I've had good success cleaning my wheels with a product from Surf City Garage called Code Red. Very, very fine wet and dry or fine cutting compound can sometimes remove stubborn marks, but don't get over enthusiastic. Alternatively you can get the rims blasted with a non destructive media or hand sand and paint them yourself. Others have had their wheels professional powder coated or painted in two pack.
Regards Martin.

Looks like you may have cast iron discs fitted? If so, once you've cleaned/refurbished the rims, hose the wheeels down every single time you finish a trip. The rust chews into the alloy even when you think there isn't any rust dust on there.

#2 on the deposits from cast iron discs. If you can get them as clean as possible - scouring pad & Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner etc. then you might find that a product called 'rub n buff' gets them looking pretty spangly afterwards. It's a silvered wax so as well as the coverage, it'll protect the wheels as well. Just an alternative suggestion to disassembly, stripping, blasting, coating etc. Costs about a tenner and is very rewarding to do  Smile

That's the last time I'll ever mention rub n buff btw, guys on here must be sick of me banging on about it  Shocked
