I've got an 85 K100RS. Well 2 actually, but doing a proper refurbish on the 2nd. Parts on/going on: braided brake lines, headlight relay, YSS shock, Race Tech springs and emulators. Lots of cleaning and replacing worn parts but the old paint is staying for now (a daily ride, not show bike). I joined the forum to send a message to BrickedOut about the frame/engine rubber mounts since my frame is going for powdercoating this week. If anyone has any other ideas on where to get them cheaper than through BMW, let me know!
Will post pics when the bike is back together.

Nice bike! Mine has a YSS rear shock, Race Tech emulators and springs (did it myself last winter), Eastern Beaver headlight relay kit, Spiegler braided lines.......

Just got all the body parts back from the painter last week. Currently addressing a little bit of surface rust on the frame underneath the tail piece. Purchased a small can of Tremclad, thinned it and sprayed it with an airbrush. Looks great. Don't know if I want to completely strip the bike to have the frame powder coated. I'd like to..........

Would love to see piccies when she's all back together.

RS Rider, I didn't plan on sending the frame out but since the bike has been parked since 2013 and I wanted to take a look at the splines, clutch, etc... seemed silly not to at this point.
Is your YSS the MZ366 with rebound adjustment? How do you like the suspension setup overall?

Forgot to add that the old K had a Supertrapp. That's coming over to the new one.

Disassembling the bike to powder coat the frame is a bunch of work. I'd be up for it as I have very nearly had the bike to that point. I've had a good look at the frame and it really doesn't need it, so........ We'll see. I'll probably cave in after I see what the bike looks like with all the newly painted body work reinstalled.

Yes. The YSS Z-Series. I purchased it from Ted Porter's BeemerShop. Never rode the bike with the OEM shock so I can't compare, but the original most certainly would have been softer.

The front end is noticeably stiffer, too, with the cartridge emulators and springs. Currently have the forks off the bike replacing the 15W oil I put in it last winter with the 20W that was recommended. Also the new fork seals I replaced last winter are seeping. Don't know why so changing those again.

Mine has a Remus.
