I came across this video as it was suggested to me by Youtube.  The procedure details how to diagnose and reset the free play in the paralever by adjusting the final drive pivot.  The procedure is performed on a R1150 but it's applicable to a K1100 as well.

What is interesting is the technique he uses to apply 7Nm of force to the adjustable pivot using a 70cm lever and 1kg bag of sugar (Starts at 5:00 mark).

Can anyone explain why you need Loctite when you have a locking nut that is torqued to 105Nm?

No. It's those silly German engineers at work.

The K bike paralever left final drive pivot does not have a locknut like the bike in the video. It's on the right side instead.

There used to be a humorous YouTube video of a guy stomping on a lug wrench with his foot 70 times in order to achieve 70 "foot-pounds" of torque.
