I know it’s not a K 100 but thought I’d share the ad anyway. I’m aware that a some forum members (e.g. our mate Stan) find it necessary to park up the top heavy K bikes for something more manageable to keep riding in their late-middle-aged adolescence…

It’s not a K…for sale - BMW F800GT: Bristol, UK. Img_3312

The bike was owned by a friend’s brother-in-law (RIP) from new and, allegedly, never ridden in the wet…hence the exceptionally low mileage.  Any interest, drop me a PM and I can put you in contact with the seller.

I ride with a friend who owns one of these F twins. It is a thoroughly competent sports-touring machine. One weakness, at approximately 30 thou K the rear hub/drive belt bearing needs a good looking at. Otherwise, she's a goer.

Having had my F800R for five years I have found it has kept me on the road...with a smile. The R has a chain drive and it has never been adjusted in the last 22,000kms. The BMW trained mechanic who looks after it tells me that technology has advanced quite a deal and he looks after another F800 with 250,000km on it. Only routine servicing needed.
Downside, you need the Gs911 device to get rid of the service reminder on the dash every year if you do the servicing yourself.
A great bike to replace the 2 Ks i had.
