Noticed I had a leaking front master cyclinder, so I have removed it and it looks like it is leaking from the piston seal.

When I pulled the tank off, I was met with this horror show. Is this already too far gone or if it cleans up ok is a kit still a chance?

I believe it’s too far gone for repair and requires replacement. 🤨

And after you install the new one, change your brake fluid on the regular to prevent this from happening again.

Looks like it might have been sitting for longer than I thought, don't have a good history on this bike.

Technically speaking, I would say it's rooted.

The comments above are probably correct but you have noting to lose if you do a clean-up and inspect it. The cylinder will probably need some honing but have a look and decide then.

I just did one on a machine I want to restore. It also looked bad but after cleaning it, it will still do the job.
