Today Orangie (my USD $200 Marakesh Red K75S project bike) took to the Road for the first time in more than 15 years. And the tires are older than that and I reckon slicker than fresh snot on glass. But it's winter (yeah happens even here in S.F. Bay land) and I wanted to winterize all three of my bikes. Which I, thru listening here and elsewhere, believe meant filling the tank and adding fuel stabilizer as well as putting a battery maintainer on the battery. There is a certain amount of idiocy involved as a major reason that I've not been riding much is that six weeks ago I had my left knee replaced and I've been a bit skitterish of riding till it fully heals in a few months. Anyway after riding the other two bikes down to my regular fuel station it was Orangie's turn. And apparently the K75S rides quite differently than my other bikes. But it's only two miles to my preferred gas station and we made it without incidents other than the rear view mirror's being completely loose. And the bike feels totally different.

Major projects left include some electrical issues with the speedometer, a continuing saga with the gear indicator and repairing the seat. I started to deal with the seat myself but have largely given it up as being more complex than I thought. BUT HURRAH, it made a two mile drive into a six miles of riding the back streets.

You would be surprised at how much condensate we get. Blizzard isn't needed just water condensing on the inside of the tank. And as I said I won't be riding for several months. All it takes is a primary care doctor talking about anything that could open up a surgical wound and then he starts in on amputation above the knee. I'll be working on the bikes but not riding for a while. Very Happy

Hey, a reversal of medical opinions. Today I got the all clear for riding from a lowly medical type but think I will hang until the great man himself agrees it's no more dangerous for me than any other fool.

I appreciate it’s nearly that time of year for wondrous miracles and visiting angels conveying special joyous messages, but do you really want to wait for a message from “him” before you ride again? You might be waiting awhile!
