Hello All,
I just joined the forum...
After many, many years and owning approx 30 different motorcycles, a friend encouraged me to try a BMW.
I have been looking for the perfect bike(and great ergonomics) for a long time. ( I have had about 10 bikes in 2 years) Shocked
I have tried everything from cafe racers , to cruisers, to Goldwings, to a KLR 650. I just got a great deal on a 1985 K100RT, and the ergonomics are pretty good, but it needs a little work on it. (I will needs some help/tips please)
I need to bring the bars back a bit, cut the wind screen down 3 inches, get some grips and do a few tweaks, but I think I may have found what I have been looking for.
I am glad to see that there is a group out here for support and help.
If there are any riders in central Ca, let me know.
Eric Very Happy

Hi Eric, welcome to the site . what prompts me to write is your comment " cut down the wind screen by 3 inches " yes yes yes yes yes! In fact strip all that tupperware off and live ...breathe... a real motorcycle, feel the wind, speed, on your body , judging cornerspeed " naturally " !
Heresy I know on the RT forum but hey ? Buy a frigg'n car if you don't want to face the "elements".
Rant over , i still love you guys.

Welcome aboard Eric. You will love your K. I urge you to ride, ride and ride some more before making any changes whatsoever.
