Bit of a strange problem. I have refurbished my brake calipers, renewing the rubber seals and cleaning everything out, putting the pistons back with the Brembo supplied silicon grease. I cleaned out the master cylinders and fitted everything back with same grease. I fitted stainless brakepad pins and greased the whole lot with copaslip. renewed all the brake fluid. I now find that its almost as if the brakes are not properly releasing. When you turn the wheels you notice the 'grinding' of the brakes. I appreciate you would expect possibly some 'touching', but it just feels like too much.

Has anyone had similar experiences and what did you do? The only thing I can come up with is that the spring behind the plunjers (not renewed) is not strong enough to pull the caliper pistons back enough to free the pads.

Appreciate your comments.

hmmm,, ....an interesting issue rene .

i too had a similar issue before changing my brake fluid ...and master cylinder refurbish kit .....interstingly what happened after wards was that i lost front brake activation ...i had inadvertantly overfilled the master cylinder resevoiur ...untill i drained some more fluid from the system so there was a definate pocket of air in the container .

the refurbish kit came with a new piston , spring and rubbers of corse and i had linished the bore of the master cylinder .

since doing the change i havent noticed any binding of the brakes since ....the rubbing of the pads on the disks ...previously a pain in the proverbial, has disapeared completly .

Hi there, I had a similar problem (mine was due to aging dust covers and seals and crude in the calipers) and solved it by refurbishing the calipers with the kits as you did, but I had previously replaced both master pistons and while searching the net for info on the subject I read a case of non retracting pads due to and small obstruction in one of the system pinholes, dont remember wich, so during my work I was very carefull that all the holes were clear.
I´ve had no issues afther the refurbish.
Hope this helps.
Best regards
JAP

OK, time to take them apart again then! I'll look into the master cylinder refurbishing kits. Cheers team!

Dirt in the return hole in the master cylinder can cause that issue.
