Damn it went to leave for work this morning and was greeted with a large(500 x 300) puddle of oil on the floor.
Closer inspection seems to be coming out of the releif hole below the oil/water pump. Looks like an overhaul, but main problem is where to get the parts i need by the weekend. Only got the wifes car until tuesday as she needs it for work.
Hmmmm even if i order them from Munich i wont see the bits before monday.
Ahhh well all good fun apparently.

Thanks all for great offers of help, have just been talkin to Alby.
He has got a whole pump that i can use till i get parts for mine. Turns out by luck that he is coming down to Caboolture on friday night, so i am going to go and meet up with him there.
All i have to get is a couple of o rings. Might give GITH a call at his work tomorrow see if he has genuine in stock, if not should be able to get from BSC.
At least it gives me a bit of time to get parts and overhaul mine without having to rush.

Again thanks for all for the kind offers. Its what makes this forum so good.

25 amps is a large fuse for our girls!!! fair amount of powdery oxide in wedge. so me thinks thats a big clue. But most likely a rating issue, bad maths. It was the fuse for the new distribution block. Will look at it sunday.

Well got home from work today and pulled the pump off the old girl. After much mumbling about the previous idiot the rounded off the coolant drain plug. I had it up on the bench. I got the one i picked up from Alby last night(thank you again Alby) and put it beside mine.
I always do this because Murphy lives in my shed and likes to come out at just the wrong moment.
Anyway i discovered that my oil pump gears are different(see pics).
The housing is the same and when i trial fitted without o rings and sealant it goes on ok. Must just be a difference between early and late models. Does anyone know if there is any problems with this or will it be ok. The only problem i can see is the groove in my housing above the small oil pump gear is not on the other one.
Will have to investigate further in the morning and report back with my findings.

Mines the one on the left.
Oil on the Garage floor 2012-040

Mine.
I stripped mine down and yes the oil seal had seen better days and the spring for the water pump seal isn't much of a spring anymore.
Also the drain line was fully clogged with gunge.
I am going to fit it back up tomorrow all going well, and once i have some parts i will rebuild mine.

Yeah i'm hoping it is all gunna be ok. Am going to have a better look at the front of the engine in the morning. I'd go back down tonight but its fairly hammering down with rain and i couldn't be bothered getting wet(again).
Got pretty wet pushing bikes around at work this morning.

Thanks for offer, might give you a bell tomorrow. I've sent Rick a pm to see if i can get one of his seal kits and i will replace it from Bins. Was Alby's suggestion actually. Just in case.

Just giving credit where its due mate, I really appreciate the trouble you have gone too on this one.

Thanks Blakey i'm going to have a quick look in the morning to see if all is ok. i think its just a different oil gallery on the later pump maybe. all the mounts and the drive shaft are the same.

Update:
Rick has sent me a pm with info on pump differences. Seems that its just a bit lower on the volume delivered side but compensated in the releif valve.

Will post more tomorrow once i get another look at it in the morning.

Well after the usual sunday domestic stuff was out of the way I got stuck into the pump stuff.
Cleaned all the mating surfaces up, put a new o ring on the oil pump drive and in the groove for the water pump outlet.
Installed the oil pump dive shaft first.
Oil on the Garage floor 2012-042
Then put a smear of loctite sealant on the face of the pump and installed that.
Oil on the Garage floor 2012-043
Put the cover on, connected the hose and oil pressure wire.
Also did an oil change while i was at it, I have only put water in it at the moment because i will be changing over again once i have my pump rebuilt.
The other reason it only has water in it is I filled it with oil then put coolant in it. But some numpty had forgotten to put the bottom hose on, hmmm nice mess on the floor. Thats what happens when you get distracted.
Once again thanks to everbody for the help and info on this, in particular Alby for loaning me his spare pump and riding down to Caboolture in the rain. Man i owe you big time. But i have made a start on your muffler.

Just as a footnote this is the puddle of oil that greeted me on thursday morning as i was going to work. And the start of all this fun.
Oil on the Garage floor 2012-049

That puddle of oil looks downright demonic! I'm glad you got things sorted too. Weekends, as much as we'd like 'em all to be just for riding, in reality they're for fixing too.
