Just took a few pics of the rear rim set-up for someone who is interested and thought I may as well post some here as well. The rim is 15" and is running a 165/80/15 tyre. I don't know what the rim is originally from and can't get the person I bought it off to bother to answer her emails or messages on the Old Codger's site. The adaptor, which requires removal of the wheel to see properly and I don't feel like doing it right now, is basically conical shaped with the four bolts. You need to modify a spanner to fit in there.

The rim just bolts straight on and there are no clearance issues.

You've been reading my mind haven't you. Believe it or not, there's a chromer here in Guyra. That will get done in the spring when I do the other bits of tarting up; the cleaned alloy cases etc. Want to have it spick and span for a ride to Vic at the end of the year with some mates to visit another mate who owns a vineyard north of Melbourne. Will see if anyone from here is interested in coming along when the time draws a bit closer.

Very nice Sean, good to know there's enough clearance for a 165. Rear rim pics. 112350

145/65x15 front, 145x15 rear, 145x10 sidecar. I keep the full profile rear to prevent lowering the gear ratio.

Paul.

Yes, me as well. I like it the way it is and find it has adequate power that way for my needs. 4,000rpm at 100kph is fine. RickG recently swapped me a K75 final drive, which I might try at some point...just to see what its like.

Hi Sean,
I once broke a dog off the 4th gear wheel which jammed the selector mechanism and left me stuck in third. Sad
I was on my way back to a steam rally where I had left my trailer and traction engine overnight, so I went to the rally, drove the steam engine round all day, then loaded it all on the trailer with the real dog in the chair and headed for home.

The bike coped brilliantly with the 40 miles, stuck in third, with about 700lbs (300 Kg) being dragged behind.

So I have no problem with the RS gearing. Rear rim pics. 112350

Paul.

Paul, I once broke a gear lever at the spline on mine! Weird thing to happen I think. I got a pair of pliers out of the chair, found 3rd gear, got it started with Anna helping to get a roll on and away we went home in 3rd. Luckily it was only about 20 km and we live in the countryside anyway, so no lights etc.
