As mentioned a few days ago I am planning on stripping the old girl and adding a bit of paint and polish.
I have a quote to soda blast the frame and powder coat it black for $550.
My question is, is it worth it.
soda blast only is $250

Thanks

I know that comparing prices for a "service" between contries isnt the best thing, but it only cost me approx $200AU for me to get my frame, fairing bracket, and loads of other parts powder coated, I know they didnt soda blast them but sand blasted it.

I am happy with the end result apart from i think they applied the powder to thick!

$550 isn't too outrageous.
Are you after a general tidy-up or heading towards concourse?

Concourse? isn't that a plane that crashed a few years ago?
Just cleaning it up. The soda clean is $250. I figured if they can paint it for 300 more then meh.
However if the 2 pac option is just as good then I will go with that. I have a mat with a spray booth so it would only be the cost of the paint.
Just figured powder coat would be a lot better.

Rossco I'd talk to the mate with the spray booth,he might say differently, but I reccon $550 for an aussie to do it is ok its not a chinese import so it should be a sensable price. Just remember the compliance plate with the job done properly it should be lifted off and put back on nice and clean. powder coat can leave you with a very clean looking frame, your mate would know of any short falls for this stuff, but most pool fences still look good after the treatment they get each year. Might be the go mate
