As Rick says, it's a much nicer ride over the dam wall and down. Watch out for skippies though, as well as livestock.

Is it true that if you are coming from the south you take Charlie's map and turn it upside down?
Col and I are having a "central NSW' meeting to discuss our big trip, tomorrow in Orange. What is the final plan for the coastites Rickmeister?

I am still unsure of my work committments for 3/4 so unpredictable , hope to get away though. Why not try using an outdated gps , and make the ride more interesting.
Making my way into Newcastle foreshore on the w/end for the Pink Ribbon Ride, you can google pics of previous rides , just type in Newcastle Pink Ribbon Ride.works for me! , its a crazy day out. Hope to get some pics of the bike to stick in my profile.

Morning Gents
Just been talking to the Publican at Bingara and we can have a BBQ dinner for $18 each and I have had one there before and it is a real good feed. Also talked about a Breaky that keeps you going all day but havent got a price yet but he did put on a good spread and most of us left feeling like a well fed python.
I said yes for the dinner but need to know if any of you plan to get away early and wont be at the breakfast. He is going to ring me back probably Thursday so if you can say by then it would be great.

BBQ dinner sounds like a plan, but any more than toast and tea for breakfast for me is too much. My stomach does not start working till about 10am, but if the brekky is just a one price and a yes I am having or no I am not, then put me down as a yes.

I can vouch for the good feed he serves at brekky as I stayed there on the way back to Queensland from visiting me Mum in Victoria last May. It's a beaut place overall. Have a good time and we'll catch you all later on at the next one. Or as they say in the Deep South, "Catch all ya'll later"

Yeah I will tell Eric that we will all have both dinner and breakfast. I only spoke to Noelene this morning and she wasn't sure on the prices for breaky but I think it was $7 last time and what a feed.
I told her that 13 or 14 were comming and they have everything there so if a few more come it will be OK and if some dont show or don't want breaky then thats OK.

Just some further info on Col. During our ride yesterday he had to see whether he would get blown off his bike at........about 180. I led us into Wellington, at the speed limit and the highway patrol was there. His response was that lucky that I was leading! So if his shape changes, he may have to go slower...........very difficult!

Hello Ed,
Was that English?
The best way on here to post a pic is just to click on the " Host an image" icon which is pretty much directly above the word icon I just typed up there. Be sure to choose host an image and not just "image".
It will then open a small new screen and you choose to browse amongst your own files to find the image you want. Once you've fund your photo, click "host it" and wait until it loads. when it is loaded three lines will appear. Highlight the middle, then copy it and paste it to the screen where your text is.

November get together (Bingara - New South Wales ) - Page 4 Sam_0910

Then go back to the small screen and click "upload". Then minimise the small screen as it never wants to go away by itself. Don't forget that it's the middle line that has to be copied and pasted.

So, there is also the possibility that you will first need to start an account with the hosting service, Servimg. No, that's not a typo.
Clear as mud now I bet...?
Sean.

Funny the missus keeps saying i should build a chair so we can carry our 2 dogs with us on the bike.

I said it would need to be fighter jet style seating, one behind the other. Can just see em now ears flapping in the breeze, slobber everywhere, goggles on(wifes idea). Now if i can just get past my fear of those wheelbarrows attached to the side of my bike.............

So what does it cost to set up a sidecar, just curious as its a question i have never asked anyone.

Red dog looks pretty happy to me.

One leg, above the knee. Make sure you keep your left one as it makes gear changes easier.
Really it can be hideously expensive to get a chair and set it up if you are paying a 'professional' to do it. Anything up to $8,000
It's all about who you know, as usual.
In my case with this outfit, my brother had built the sidecar to fit on his girly Sportster way back in the 80's to cart his kiddlywinked about and do the shopping. It then sat in a shed in Colleambally for years until I hitched a traile to the Falcon and went an grabbed it a few years ago. he had previously had a Dusting chair on his old Trumpy, so the chassis was essentially based on the Dusting. ( And still is). When I got it it was in a fairly sad state, so I tarted it up a bit and all the rest. I had only just bought the RT, and its white paintjob was so new that I had little choice but to paint the chair white as well.
Anyway...a mate helped me design the subframe and put it together and really that's just a matter of common sense I guess and decent welding skills. There is a wealth of info on the internet about making sidecars and subframes etc...make a search engine your friend. The sidecar fuselage is just some gal steel rivetted together. The wheel is the rear wheel from a TX500 Yamaha...circa 75 or so and weighs approximately 4.5 megatons. Who needs ballast in the chair to keep it on the ground?
Anyway...when we go to Bingara you can have a look at it and crawl around and I am sure a handy chap like yourself and others could put their heads together and make something very well and useful!

Thanks Charlie, they raised about $8000 on the day great effort from 186 bikes.
shame that it was a stinker with the weather, hit about 40 degreees, the ride headed inland 2 hours, which took us away from the cool ocean breeze. I spent a lot of the ride perched up on the back seat, luckily we left the kids at home for this run.
Next year is the 10th anniversary, and they are looking for as much support as they can get, if their are any locals reading it would be good to catch up, pink bits or not!!

Getting a bike back on the road is expensive. We all know that. If you can't afford the fifty, five tens will do just fine. I can make room in my wallet. I will just shoo the moths out.
