Nice pics guys, looks like you all had a blast.

Good to hear you liked the zorst Sean, notice any gain in power or were you to busy screwing the throttle open.Smile

I am definately getting to the next one even if i have to sell a testicle( no wait they are in a jar on top of the fridge and i get to see them every now and again). Damn shame I missed this one, looked like a great ride.

Thanks to Charlie for delivering Seans zorst for me too.

Motoworks is an O'fishal BMW dealer and wont sell to OEM Oz because big brother has a big stick. Motobins is the go for parts to Oz.

I buy from both Motorworks and Motobins and have the bits shipped to OZ and always thought Motorworks wouldn't sell to North America only...I could be wrong but my buying experience tells me otherwise unless something's changed...

I have only ever bought from Motorworks and never had any problems with shipping or selling to Australia.

Maybe you need to arrange beforehand. I was knocked back about 18 months ago and just went to Motobins and haven't ever tried again.
There are quite a few places in UK and US who say not available to OZ but once you contact them they usually will trade.

You are dead right...my money has been accepted and the parts will be here next week...ish.

Rossco I may have to give you a tour of the RAAF base before pulling the beemers down....will let you know when the bits get here..come to think of it perhaps this could be a good venue for another meeting/maintenance weekend/BBQ.

Col and any others who are contemplating the sidecar route, the raw material for the "rear wheel hub adapter" has been acquired...now to find a machinist and suitable PCD..I have some alloy 15 inch wheels with tyres if you can use them stud pattern 4 x 114.( ex Hyundai Coupe)

anyhow looking forward to the next ride...and how do you get pictures onto the forum???

Cheers Mr Klompy

I would recommend using a PCD of 114.3mm which is commonly known as Toyota. Mags are very easily obtained in 13", 14" and right up to17" and also use low profile tyres.
I have been making trailers for bikes to tow and the 13" wheels with a 155 x 50 x 13 tyre can be run flat for many miles without damage (I have done it accidentaly and didn't even know) as can the 14" and 15" tyres.
I would recommend running these low profile tyres on the bike and sidecar because of the runflat capabilities when the weight is low. These tyres are not meant to be run flat but being very low profile and with low weight they will do the job at a reasonable speed eg 50kph.

just a suggestion ...never ever go to 50 % or lower tyre height ...yes they are great on modern city roads but that is it ..

just a thought
