Hi I am doing another output shaft replace, this time with the motor out, I dont want to take off the air box, does any one have a way to place the motor on the bench up side down, blocks, stand ect. ?

I have used an engine stand like for a car engine, it makes life easy

Hi Rick, I cant figure out were to bolt a stand to on the motor, the two front mounting bolts seem strong , but wouldn't work well when the motor is upside down.

Bolt a piece of plywood to the rear end, a 2"x2" leg down from each frame mounting.
A piece of 2"x2" between each leg and the plywood, and between the legs.

Bolts through from the neighbour upstairs.

I had to make a few pieces but bolted it to the main block piece only with some clearance.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will go with the plywood 2x2 rig, my engine stand has a 90hp outboard on it at the moment.

Thanks for the input, I used the plywood and small boards to build the stand, all and all it is much more relaxed to change over the output shaft with the motor out, and upside down.
