I have just reconnected my coils, from the loom which connects to the controller, and then heads to the bottom of the coils... there are several wires... the ones that connect to the coils aren't a problem they are in the right locations...what i also have are 2 brown wires (earths) but I can't see where they connect or if they are redundant.
The Coils are earthed using a meaty ribbon cable which connects to earth (I have connected it to the bolt where it attaches to the frame...

Any suggestions?

They connect to a couple of spade terminals which earth the core of the coils so that if the coils short to the core then you dont get frizzled if your leg touches the coil.

That does make sense to me...

If you want to use the original as well... it may work snipping off the ends of the brown cables and reterminating them onto the ribbon cable.. solder etc
