Hi to all on this forum from the new guy from Wisconsin. I have just purchased a 85 K100RS and I am starting a rebuild. I got it from a guy for $500 so I hope I didn't pay to much. Any thoughts? The bike has 144000 miles on the engine and the previous owner just replaced the output shaft. I guess it has the 6 rivet shaft. I will be starting a rebuild thread while I put this bike back on the road. This is the first non-Japanese non-carborated bike I will be doing so I am a little apprehensive about what's waiting for me in the dark recesses of the BMW. So any thoughts on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. I have put some pictures of what I am starting in my build thread.
Thanks to all in advance

Thanks guys. This is just suck a different kinda of bike than I am used to. I am sure I will have it up and running in no time. Do people do much performance mods to these bikes? It really seems most of you guys are happy with them in their stock configuration.

There is not a big scope for doing much with these bikes as the LJetronic ECU makes for some limitations.
Two Wheels Better has done some mods that have improved things, if you search K1100 throttle bodies you should come up with the thread about it.
