Two problems have emerged on my beloved 83 naked and I am wondered whether they are related. The odo and trip have not worked since 2001 and I have found a way around that. Now the speedo has stopped working, at the same time that the low fuel light stopped. Instrument lighting is OK throughout the whole instruments.
Before I attack the job I was wondering whether a common problem has caused the two issues or whether is was pure coincidence
Any suggestions will be welcome..

It looks like it`s time to open the box, and say hello.
It`s only one connector for switched power in.......
so you have internal connections failing one by one.

The speedo and the low fuel pcb have nothing in common exept for power and ground which is shared with most other this and that inside.

That your light still function doesn`t prove anything, since it got it`s own circuit.....exept that both ground connections still is functioning (shared with others).
