Just remembered, when I spoke with Col he said he doesn't know where his pants and boots were. This could have a funny side to it in different circumstances.

Col has a birthday today. Had lunch with him yesterday...he takes Maccas straws with him to the pub....but won't drink beer with them! He is progressing slowly and hopes to have his hands out of the splints in about 2 weeks time.

hi all, spoke to Col tonight and he is still on the mend and is now an absolute authority on daytime television and apart from giving the postman the bird on a daily basis his dainty little digits are enjoying physio. He says hi and will be back to "touch typing " in a week or so..emphasis on touch.

I'll help with the painting.

I've been doing models for over 50 years. Plastic models, that is.

This is Col, yesterday, complete with his "Michael Jackson" one glove. He has some movement in his fingers and he tells me he can hold a middy of beer in his left hand, ....but can't hold a cup of coffee. Oh well a man must make sacrifices
It could be another month before he can return to work and further trips to the big smoke to the big hospital are planned for next week..I still have trouble coming to terms with ordering a cup of coffee, two sugars and one straw. The two donuts.......you did not hear it from me.......were negotiated with his hand very well.
Great to see him on the mend.

Good to see someone else is a fan of the greatest rock band that ever was.
Col is looking well...lost a bit of weight I think....well ok... he can't actually feed himself can he...Still, as a diet strategy it's obviously effective!

Having endured the Black Dog and Battle of Evermore it seems you are happily climbing the Stairway to Heaven.

Lot of physio needed, been there and its the key to getting back to where you were.

When they give you a ball to squeeze in your hand, replace it with a squeeze bulb and two tubes...one end in the glass of beer, with a non return valve, the other end goes between your lips. The kit you get for sucking out a petrol tank is good, but make sure it is unused......When you run out of beer water serves the same purpose. Beats sucking through straws...

Alternative is to sit on a K and keep using the clutch lever and brake lever with just the fingers.....

So, a more serious question, will you be back on a K for next summer? You seem to have the perfect place for 'doing a few jobs to the bike' once a little beer cabinet and television is installed. Between everyone on the site I reckon we have enough bits around to see your K back on the road......

The best was of doing the physio I found was to nominate a time and stick to it and very soon it just becomes part of the day and when you miss one for whatever reason things just dont feel right.
I used to do it right after breakfast and would not even take phone calls.

The Jenny Craig Department of Main Roads diet seems to be working real well...you have never looked better Col...drastic but effective.
