After I brought it home ,it had electrical problems......so the tear down began.

Next was the rear splines!

i used never ceaze on the mid and rear splines.....(it contains moly-lube) and the splines are doing fine.

Next was the triple tree, the farings and windscreen were shot ( 6 years falling over in a barn), So here comes the modifying!

course the seat took a beating as well!, I had it refurbished with naugahide,had it sewn up for 90 bucks!

Needless to say the progressive shock was spent.....and a little tall for me (14 inches), So I found one shorter and much nicer!

Never-seeze might not have a sufficient quantity of molybdenum to serve as spline lube. The proper lube will have 60% molybdenum content. Check the MDS for the stuff you've used to see whether it meets this spec.

Your correct, it doesn't. But the miles or lack there of that I put on her makes it a quick fix. I plan on another tear down in the fall with bmw moly Plus a look at the front spline, which is still riding stock, but rarely wears out thankfully. For a barn find I thought I was gonna be trashing the bike especially with the electrical issue's. But I took my time and spent 3 month's doing it on a shoestring budget. This is the second season and I only run 900 hundred miles a year usually on a bike......last year was a miniscule 189 miles. I put on over 400 since the april start up.
