Big Sax,
What do you do to get the engine so clean, it looks brand new!

Hi TD,

I went down to Supercheap (discount auto parts store) and bought a polishing wheel kit. Three small buffing pads that fit on a drill and they come with three blocks of polishing stuff a bit like jewellers rouge.

A couple of happy hours buffing and hey presto. The engine covers look almost like chrome.

Tips.
Do it while the engine is hot.
Wash it down between buffs.
Have some beer handy.

Just bought meself a set of those indicators also.

I like the idea they sit pretty flush and have the added advantage of being seen from the side and rear. And not LED.
Errr, little update rosskko.

I just noticed the indicators are now on hyperflash. The bulbs must not have the right resistance. Sorry.

I can live with hyperflash but let me know if you solve it please Smile

Are they LED or bulb? Try a higher wattage bulb.
Don't know what your rules are over there in WA but in NSW I doubt hyperflashing indicators would pass rego.

A 23 watt bulb would not make for fast flashing, it may increase decrease the rate a bit but not very much.

higher wattage decreases the flash rate ...

if you have hyper flash  then cut pin 7 on the ic inside the flasher relay

the usual reason for hyper flash is that the globe does not draw enough current

and is a warning function

try testing the connections to the unit ...or undo the rear stop lens and clean up the multi pin spade terminals connector behind there  which does the stop, running and flash cables ...don't forget the earth

hope that helps

I suppose I should amend the topic of this thread to just general pics of my bike.

I was not really happy with the gap between the side panels and where the lower fairing used to be. So I filled it in with side panels from a k1100.

They actually are quite an easy fit, I just cut off the retaining lug and screwed an electrical conduit clip in its place and clamped it to the frame. The original side clips fit with just a little bending of the metal retaining spike on the frame and just put a bolt on the tail slot.

I was a bit lucky with the colour as my bike has been painted with a colour that is pretty close to the 1100 colour. I am planning to re paint the bike next year anyway, I am thinking diamond or pearl white.

Thanks JR.

It looks like I am getting there by stealth!

Actually I have a bad back so comfort takes priority over style.

I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for an RT comfort seat (ebay) to arrive Very Happy

Looks a bit rough from the back but clips on really tight, actually better on the frame than the original lug when attached to the tank.

No, that was how I got them.

Hard to complain though, $80 the pair.

That front part goes into a slot in the inner fairing panel and on the K100 would sit behind the inner edge of the panel.
