Glad I posted the how to.

My oh my that is a very nice motorcycle.
Now one from the other side please.
And the front. And the back.
And one sitting in the riding position. I am always curious how the bars and seats make a difference and no one ever shows 'action shots'

Not seen the front guard extension for the front before. Your invention or did you buy it? Or is it a painting detail?

LOL..my invention start to almost finished..still trying to find the right hand side of the rad cowl for the K100 standard. Easier to locate the tooth fairy.
I'll upload a few more angles
Forgot to mention ..the front fender protector is just a vinyl tank protector cut down to fit..

Last time I saw a radiator cowl for sale was on fleabay US and it went for $400. It was in near perfect condition, but $400 was a bit rich for this peasants wallet.

Hudcom,
Have a look at THIS page.

Motorworks will not ship used parts to the US, but if you know someone in the UK that can forward it on you should be good to get the bit you want.

Exhaust is a Luftmeister. They where aftermarket for BMW back in the day. Found this used in good condition with the header pipes at a small BMW repair shop in Vancouver.

Love the Colour scheme ! 85 K100 mod Sbowin11

Is that a fenda extenda on the leading edge of the front guard and is it a trick of the light or is the instruments backplate a different grey to the bike (like the colour coding idea on that!)?

The fender extender is just a vinyl tank protector cut to fit and stuck on..worked out well. The grey on the instrument back plate is the same as the exhaust header and the foot rest brackets. Done in a satin silver.

Unusual colour scheme but works really well.
You're gradually coming over to the dark side, Will(88).

I'm already there John in terms of looks, I have my eye on a sweet k75c but I'm just not sure I could live without the rain protection of the LT fairing in this climate.

Rick:

I must have lucked out. A few days after I purchased a nakedized '85 k100RS, someone here had parts from a standard that he was selling to go cafe - great shape for $100!

Through biding my time I have picked up a '91 4V engine/tranny/swingarm/final drive/rear brake disk/caliper w/ 43K on them for $450.

I'v also gotten everything but front disks, rear shock and wider wheels for a complete K1100 suspension.

I'm going to enjoy it this spring-fall season then start working on it this winter.

Is a shame about missing out on the bits but thats a good buy on the 16v gear.
I put the wide RS wheels on my K1100LT and with the radial tyres is is just so far in front of the standard gear.
I am in much the same situation getting a heap of bits together for a K1100GS build. Sounds a bit extreme but you don't have to twist the throttle all the way.
