I do live in the boonies, but I seem to have entered an alternate dimension where I can't get brake hose..

The reservoir or the rear brake broke and I'm fitting an old one on there, but need a longer piece of brake hose...probably a whole foot...

Anyone have ideas where the hell to get brake hose??

There is a rigid pipe between the caliper and the flexible rubber brake hose. The joint between these parts is captured in a bracket welded to the swingarm. Do you have that rigid pipe? If not, that might account for the foot you seem to be missing.

You can get almost any local company to manufacture a brake hose to your specifications. You'll have to specify the correct couplings between the master cylinder and caliper, but I believe they are standard brake parts. Specify a braided steel hose to replace the OEM one and make it long enough to reach the caliper. Speigler is a company that manufactures brake hose kits to replace OEM hoses. That might be a possible source for you although you would have to order to the States. An alternative I can recommend, seeing that you are in Canada, would be Blue Streak Racing. Tony is a great guy to deal with and I can recommend his work because I've had hoses for my K100RT fabricated by him. You'd have to do mail order since he's in Ontario.

Thanks for that...well, it's the small bit of hose that runs between the master cylinder and the reservoir..doesn't need fittings.

There should be a compression coupling to adapt the rigid pipe to the flexible hose. I'd recommend specing a completely new hose if I were you. It would cost nearly the same but the brake feel would improve over the OEM. You contact Tony and specify exactly the length, fittings, colour, etc. you desire and he fabricates the hose exactly to those specs. You'd have to do mail order since he's in Ontario but there is free shipping on qualifying orders.
