this question probably been asked a million times but has any one riding a k11 found a happy medium with tyre pressure ?

It's been done to death but the answer seems to be how long is a piece of string.
What tyres and what pressures are you running now. Many here have found that going higher than BMW recomend on the tyre placard and the owners manual is very much recommended as the tyre technology has changed a great deal in the last 20 years.
I have the wider RS wheels on my K1100 and run 38 front and 46 rear with michilin Pilot Road 2s with the OEM K1100LT sizes I would recommend around 34 front and 38 rear and if 2 up or high speed then go up 2 lb each end.
 One way I was told by a tyre expert to get the correct pressure is to put them to the recommended pressure and go for a 30k ride then stop and immediately check the pressure and if it has gone up 4 lb then it's ok if less than 4 then the pressure is too high and if more then its too low.
Now how long was that bit of string. You what gave it to the kids to play Ned Kelly:D

I'm in agreement with Rick. The formula he described was once told to me by a tyre fitter veteran as the "ten percent rule". He suggested you set the pressure where you reckon it outta be then go for that magical short ride over the roads you intend to ride at the temp you intend to ride in and under the load you intend to carry, and at the speeds you intend to ride. Did the pressure go up more than ten percent once you've stopped and immediately checked them? Prolly too soft. If it went up less or not at all, prolly just right, like the proverbial podge, Goldilocks.

I've shod my K100RS with radials and K1100RS wheels. I run 38-40 psi up front and 42-44 psi out the back. This works well for me.

Most tyre manufacturers, such as Bridgestone and Dunlop make specific recommendations for their tyres for a specific MC. They are generally higher than the original BMW recommendations. You can find them on their home pages for your particular bike and tyre.

Generally they follow the 36-38 PSIG in front and 40-42 PSIG on the rear, so that is not a bad place to start.

I found that with a lot of highway riding 42 was too high on my rear Sports Demon, wore the centre flat. Guess it depends on the road you travel.

worst part about it all is im a tyre fitter my self im running 38 front and rear at the moment an lift it to 42 on the rear when 2up loaded but the back tyre Metzler and its feathering on the outer edges but fine on the centre don't know for sure if its one of those duel compound jobs or not it was brand new when I got the bike and its done 4000 k and doesn't even show any signs of ware in the centre but like I said the edges are feathering might be just the tyre
