I have this idea to use a K100 swingarm and final drive as a swingarm on a sidecar. This would allow me to use a K100 rear wheel on the S/C and would have a disc for a sidecar brake or handbrake. I'd remove the input pinion from the FD to reduce drag, and blank off the hole. I have a FD with stuffed splines, a spare rear wheel, and swingarms seem to be cheap.

Any reason why this wouldnt work?

Swinging arms are free at my place.
I think you are looking a a very bulky setup by the time the shockie is mounted. On the other hand it would be a heap cheaper than making a special hub for a K100 bolt pattern.

I'd have to measure it up but maybe not much bulkier than the usual swingarm arrangement. And definitely cheaper since I have the final drive and wheel already. I'm hoping the R100 pivot pins are the same size as the K100 as I have a set of them as well. Time to get the tape measure out..
