I have just bought a 1992 K1100LT on ebay.  The seller has stated that the ABS is faulty, and rather than spend a fortune getting it to function properly, I am contemplating its removal.

I have searched the forum and downloads section, but cannot seem to find any info on this specific task.  I would welcome any advice from those who may have done it.

hi my 94 had the same problem when I bought it and I was going to do the same thing but the brakes work fine without it the only annoying thing is the flashing light on the dash but that's only a globe they are designed to bypass and work like normal brakes if the unit fail. good luck and enjoy the big cruiser  mick

You can get rid of the flashing lights by taking the 2 blue relays out of the relay box under the back of the tank and Tosi the guru says to also remove the multipin plug from the computer under the seat. Thats what I have just done while mine is at tosi's place getting fixed ($150AUD posted back) and a 12 month warranty.

Thanks for the help and advice gentlemen.  If I disable the system, I shall want to remove all of the unnecessary weight, and make things as simple to work on and bleed in the future.
