Got offered a 50 amp alternator from a R1150RT.  The part number from BMW and the plate match and it looks like the bolt pattern is the same. if I replace the pulley with a cup should it fit?  Anyone know of this observation is correct?

not sure about the r series

but please, make sure if you do it ...measure , measure , measure ..before you tighten it up
there are a couple of different cups that look similar , but project further onto the drive coupling
maybe mike p knows ?

good luck !

The 50A alternator itself is similar on both models......and a lot of others.

Duck would also be a great resource on this as he breaks down K's and sells parts. Also, his Frankenbrick is a composite of a number of different bikes.
