I went over the K75 turbo bolt by bolt, part by part in order to rejuvenate it and make it an awesome once more reliable perfect running little K.

BUT, I missed one thing.

Now that it's drying out a little here in Seattle, I've been running errands on it. (And enjoying the hell out of riding it.)

When I get stuck in traffic the coolant idiot light comes on and I can't hear the fan.

A bad fan. One of the most basic common things to test on an old K and I totally spaced on it.

Do what I did on the LT when the fan died. Simply kill the engine when stopped in traffic. Worked a treat. Most important thing is to be aware of the fact that its not working.

Sorry for your mistake, but it is nice to know even the experts have Awh Shit moments!

At least you know exactly how to fix it.

I am not an expert.  Just a shadetree mechanic who has broken more stuff than anyone else.

not always

often we discount the things that we think, wont happen to us..
there has been a constant in here ...what is likely to happen ....with age and miles

it doesn't prove that we are dumb or stupid  ...just unexpected

and how to diagnose it .

fortunately we are gifted with an amazing collection of fellow enthusiasts ... and I say "thank heavens "

we can commiserate and appreciate the issues ...hope it gets better duck ...!!!
