If I use the throttle gently and cut the throttle everything is OK.

If I sharply blip the throttle to 3000 or above or have to come to stop from higher revs like pulling up for traffic lights, the engine slows so much that it stalls.

Also when the revs are dropping down quickly through 2000-1500, the charge light comes on then off.

The bikes idle speed is good at 1000rpm, it just drops off so far when decelerating that it sometimes stalls.

Hopefully the stalling will be sorted once I get the injectors cleaned and synch the throttle bodies.  I've never seen the charge light flash on like that before.

Any ideas?

Al

You're right, it wouldn't hurt and easy to do as well.

I have to run through the fuses and connections anyway.  I discovered to day its has no fuel warning light as well as no working fuel guage(which I already knew).  It had a 'cough' while accelerating from traffic lights this afternoon which I instantly recognized as fuel surge.  No warning though could be a bit dicey, I haven't actually ran out of fuel for years.

An occasional cough and a charge light that comes on, could mean ignition is cutting out momentarilly, any back fires? or coughs on bumps? such as might happen if the ignition switch lost contact or the kill switch or such, I mean it could be brushes in the Altinator or the starter perhaps, just thinking of contacts for batt and earth.

I would be looking for a momentary break in Ignition as that wall also make the alt light come on as well, you probably wouldn't get a cough or backfire as that type of fault would also cut the injectors as well so no fuel to explode.

There is no cough or backfire at all, if I roll the throttle on it responds immediately.
The bike runs very nicely other than this glitch.

Time to go through connections and earths, have to start somewhere.

A possibility is the TPS but I cant imagine how that would make the alternator light come on.
Are you using the L-Jetronic or the Motronic 2.1

Its the 16v RS Rick, it would be Motronic.

On the sidecar I transplanted the wiring loom and Motronic along with the 1100 engine.

Being a Motronic it's unlikely to be the TPS.
