Broke the mirror on my 89 K100 RS (just need the glass).  I think you can use the right or left mirror glass in both sides if anyone has an extra one.

Bought new ones from BMW few years ago and they were not too expensive.

Just after I purchased my bike I went to the closest BMW dealership to order a brake light switch...more than a week later I was told the part was in, went up it was the wrong part.  I paid with my Visa card and was told that I would receive a refund by mail that came a couple of weeks after that...no thanks I'm done with dealing with dealerships, car or motorcycle.

You will have problems getting one elsewhere as they break fairly easily. Would it help if we gave you the BMW part number (46 63 2 307 640). That way you will get the correct one from the dealer.

Not defending dealer parts people per se and it is frustrating to get the wrong parts but they do have to provide a wide variety of parts across many models and years. They can't be experts on every bike BMW ever made. IMO it's not reasonable to expect them to be right 100% of the time.

I've been ordering by part number for years which precludes getting the wrong part - unless I screw up.

There's quite a few of us here who can help find the part number(s) for what you need. Don't by shy about asking.

Many years ago before I found out about Motobins etc. I went a wrecker and bought a convex mirror from a car and spent many hours removing it from the backing then grinding it to size then used it to replace the broken mirror on my LT.

There was for a time a vendor on the German eBay that sold convex mirrors for our bikes.  Has anyone had experience with those?
If I ever break another one on my bike, I'd be tempted to go that route as the OEM set-up doesn't provide a good rear view on the RS models.

I've never understood why people care so much about mirrors. I trust mirrors about as much as I do politicians.  Cage or bike, a shoulder check is the only way to KNOW what's there.

Mirrors help to plan moves you want to make.   Shoulder checking is a defense move, like flashing your brake lights, and are not a substitute for a good shoulder check.  Both are necessary IMHO.
