Hoping for some feedback, I have an older K100Rt, and it sat for quite a while, so most of the hardware is corroded (still does its job, just looks crappy) Noticed on EBAY a guy selling replacement hardware kits for the K100RS, in stainless steel. My question is, does the stainless bolts react with the aluminum of the bike? I remember hearing about different types of corrosion and I remember different types of metal can react when used with other types. Just don't to make a bigger project out of my normal project!!! thanks for any input! cheers B

Hi Bruce - yes and no ! Hello Everyone!! Icon_lol

There is a chemical reaction between st.st. and alloy - but no probs if you use Coppaslip or similar on assembly.

If You can get to a yacht chandler they will sell you a small tube of green grease specifically intended to prevent corrosion between ss and aluminium.
