The LT has a bit of an annoying problem with the clock.

I put it right, turn on the ignition and fire up the motor and the clock springs from the right time to some random time on the 24hr clock. This doesn't happen every time, but enough to be irritating.

I've a feeling that the remedy is to take off the instrument binnacle and clean up the contacts, but anyone with a fully clothed K will know what a PIA that job is Sad

Any other thoughts please?

You have the answer and you start by removing the left side fairing panel. Twisted Evil

I might be lucky but have removed the instruments ...just by undoing the pockets  then fiddling around and undoing the allen keys holding the bracket

mind you this is a k100 rt  rather than a k1100 ....

The access improves if you remove the screen carrier complete with mechanism and motor.

Strange this with the clock tho..........normally if it losing power for a fraction of a second it would reset and start from 00:00.

That is exactly what mine is doing.

Any pointers as to where to check first? Or is it just a case of methodically checking every wire?

I would have started with checking fuse #3 contacts, then the connector behind the
instruments (pin #1, red/white wire), at last the internal contacts inside the instrument.

Clock Gremlin Kontak12

Also have a look in post 6 & 13 about the connector pins in this thread.

I had some luck with one a few weeks ago. I pulled it apart and separated the LCD from the rest of the clock and cleaned the surface with a soft white pencil eraser and got all but one segment going but I don't think it will last long as there were signs of bleeding right up in one corner.
There is a guy that sells OEM clocks on US ebay but I can't find any there at the moment. Each time some go up they get more expensive were about $90 last time I saw any.

Thanks for the hints and tips. If it stops raining long enough I'll go and have a 'poke'.
