Can anyone advise if the cam covers for a K100 and K75 are the same?? They look it but that doesn't always mean much.......I just want a spare one I can polish up!!

You can do this quite easily. It's a very useful tool. If you have a silver version of a part and want a black painted version it will not tell you the difference, but for most it will.

You don't need a parts catalog to figure this one out.  A K100 has four cylinder, a K75 three.  A quick look will show you that a K100 cam cover has two bolts more than  a K5.

I believe that a better name for what the original poster is talking about would be the cam chain cover.  In which case the number of cylinders would not necessarily have any bearing.

Yes they are interchangeable but if you want one to polish make sure you get a silver one as the black paint can be VERY hard to remove.

Tru dat . . but if you can find a friendly engine reconditioner with a paragon tank they just dip it and the paint brushes off after about 2 dips and 48 hours in the paragon
