This bike is the antithesis of everything I believe in: Ugly colors, lots of stickers, stunter bike, etc...

I'm in my 50s and know that my bones probably aren't up to a getoff on something like this but I find them VERY seductive.....

And, although common sense and survival instincts tell me not to, my 18-year-old right wrist begs to differ.

Talk me down.....

lets be honest  ,,nice flashy and capable bike

but its a chalk and cheese comparison

i tend not to see those things far out of town with especially the more "mature" rider

im reminded of the ducati and norton owners clubs,  who i have come across, out the back end of our capital city, quite a few times
seems the 200 to 400 k loop is about all they seem to manage in a day ...as a few of them have said to me.. yeah its a thrill ...laying down like that,  getting all the vibes and speed in the right places ....but honoestly the back pain , the cricked neck ,and hip and knees suffer immensly .

im also a thrill seeker ..and at times it would be great to leg over a machine that does 110 kph  in first gear and would lever over to 50 plus degrees of lean without an issue ...in the chill of the season my left fore arm reminds me of the fractures that i suffered from doing much the same at a verry youthfull age  .

just the maintainance on the tyres would restrict my riding days per year ...giggle

there is a reason that the k series ...especially the rs lt and rt versions hold favour amongst many members in here

and it has a lot to do with the riding stance ,,, the well mannered control and ride ergonomics of the machine and many like it ...

i see an amazing quantity of the dual sport type machine these days in preference to the all out race style machines if you concider anything out side of 400 k round trips...  and to the far distance travellers ... well thats another story
i think lots of us prefer the convience of hiding from direct wind against our body, for a good distance at least .

which reminds me of our run down to the "far cairn rally "   ..... flash forward another 2000 ks on the same trip ...i think most of us arrived back home fairly well baked by the sun effects rather than ruin from bad posture and a lay down position ?

would i love to own one of those machines...sure would ...if i could afford it
would i prefer to ride it for the trips i do ...sorry fail on that one
would i still have a licence after a year ...definatly not

for me the challenge is to maximise the inherant abilities of the k   and for so much less than any slight modification cost of a current racer style machine... and isnt that the enjoyment side of things ....not to just rely on factory aprooved releases (at great premiums ) of upgrades to make our ride just a little different than all the rest ?

just my thoughts
