I've had the LT for 13 years now and don't really use it for it's proper purpose, it's my commuter bike to get me to the station each day. Obviously it does a great job and especially as it gets very little tlc.

I ended up on the site when I found a link to an LED parking light conversion which I'm just doing this weekend - very pleased with that post Smile

I also have a Krauser MKM1000 in need of restoration but doubt that cuts much ice on a K series forum!

Hi and welcome Barry.

A K at Hayling Island? Not a Flying Fifteen or a Dragon? Had some good friends there years back.

Bet the guys in Australia will be interested in the Krauser MKM!!

Nice to see some photos of the K!

Olaf

Thanks for the welcome chaps, I'll be doing a few searches for info as I haven't done much to the poor old K over the years. MOT due very soon and a sticking front brake lever has kick started me into action: brakes, coolant, LED parking light etc. Fairing is off and it's getting a deep clean for the first time ever!

Welcome to the forum, Baz. It's a good'un.

Bloody hell, that Krauser is in Jimboomba Qld! That's the next town over from me. If it's still around in a week when I get back home I'll have to see if I'm able to go round for a proper squiz at it.

Hi Rick,

I don't really keep an eye on the classifieds but would think there must be plenty up for grabs at reasonable prices, I'm sure someone can step in with suggestions of the best place to look over here, good luck,

Barry.

I have amazed myself  since i got my RS i am as good a mechanic as your average orange juice bottle.
but in the last 2 months i have managed to replace the starter relay ( mine went kaput a week after getting the bike ) then the clutch cable snapped & yesterday i replaced the rear pads & bled the brakes what a clever orange juice bottle i am lol.

Baz do you work during the week ? i will more than likely be in havant one they next week if you want to meet up for a coffee ?

Not good to hear about your wife and good to see you are coming out the other end OK.
I cant see why anybody would object to a post in the rides section after all it is a worthy cause. https://www.k100-forum.com/f17-european-rides-and-meetings
I would say that most riders know of friends in similar situations and would support the air ambulance or in OZ the Flying Doctor.

Am really sorry to hear about your wife too. Anniversary times are hard and bring back a lot of memories.

There was a similar story in Norn Iron, one of the race doctors who follows the riders was killed and my son who is also a medic knew him quite well as he had been to some of his training sessions. A big outpouring of support and goodwill so its worth going for.

Good morning everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike, i live in California. I am in my 50's and up until two weeks ago, i have always had Japanese bikes. My lasr bike was a 77 GL1000 that i sold because it needed some work and I needed a change.

For the last 6 months i had been looking for a brick, but wanted to find the right one, you know, a K100 with low mileage that had been babied its entire life. Well, I found it. I bought an 87 K100RT with 26k on the odometer, in perfect condition. After i bought it, it went straight to the shop for a service and spline lube.

The bike is beautuful and runs great! Its like riding a work of art.
