Had a surf around the forum but cannot find an answer to my question. Can the TPS be deactivated in the Motronic system or does it always have to be in circuit? I get the feeling it must always be in circuit to make the engine run. Does make the on/off throttle position and riding a bit jerky.  John

K11's don't have a throttle position switch, but a throttle position sensor.

4V's With Motronic don't have a airflow meter, and using the throttle position
sensor to calculate the amount of air used.

So, yes...you need it in place and functional on a 4V.

Hi Thanks for reply, Will have to set it up using info from forum as it runs sooty exhaust at low speed and plugs are black. Out of interest, as it controls air flow, how sensitive is its setting?  John

As one of the inputs to the Motronic for calculating the amount of fuel to be injected,
it have to be as correct as possible = better end result.

If it don't help after an adjusting.......also have a look at the other sensors,
water temp, air temp, O2 sensor, Co pot if non cat.

I think you find some info over at the K11OG forum.
