Today I had reason to make a 059 pannier key.

Firstly I noticed that the key only goes into the lock for about 6 mm, so I only needed to re-create the end of the original key.

Looking at our old 'key' posts it seems that they all have the same 'lump' that operates the locking mechanism and the difference between all the different keys is just the end profile, ie, the grooves that run along the length of the key, front, back or both. Again you only need to re-create these grooves for about 6 mm.

I was going to post this in one of the old threads, but as they are all a bit long I thought it would be simpler to start a new topic as it may save someone from trying to make a full length key.

The original key can now go to a forum member in Oz!  cheers

Paul.
