First of all....Happy New Year All!

Second, thought that some might want to know about this offering.

Appears that it has been sitting/not ridden much...looks not to be complete as to fairings , by the ad.

12k miles on the clock.

Dunno anything about the details.

Anyway:

http://louisville.craigslist.org/mcy/4789471359.html

The person selling this is 25 miles away and I don't know him.

Regards,
JimK
PS...I believe that this craigslist offering is nearing it's 30 day end.  There was a thing to click on to find a contact number for the seller...which I did, have and will keep for a bit.  Didn't feel it was proper to post here.

Looking harder at the picture..

Seems that the handlebars are a little out of whack...while the speedo unit looks level?
That and no fairings...begs some questions.
Hard fall down?

For those that know about these bikes:

What is the pink thing in the picture right on the rear shock...a fox shock in bad light?

What is the blue item above the fuel rail?

That is a WP shockie had one just like it on the K100. It's even got the K1200/R1100 wheels and brakes.
That is a really good buy it would cost as much again to get it here and on the road and even that is a good deal for what you get.

It sure isn't an OEM seat, probably has a couple of TEC screws holding it on from underneath

Missing front indicators. Yes, it looks like it's been dropped on the L/H side, rather than crashed.

JimK - being nosy - where do you live? I was in Pikeville for a year at school there some twelve years ago. I was a returner and I'd won a scholarship to study business in the US for a year. I have fond memories of Louisville and Meade County.

It's not a false claim. When the piccie is expanded it's clear to see that it has a turbocharger bolted to it. But whether it's worth the cookies to put it back to something that would be a runner is another thing. I am amused at how the seller claims it is very very very, etc., clean when in fact it has a fair amount of damage and a heap of missing pieces. Polished nuts n bolts don't make it more than it is. The decision to be made by a potential buyer would be whether the Matt Capri/Luftmeister turbo parts n pieces (actually made by RBR ) are worth the $2450 asking price.

That is a bargain, full stop (IF it's not a phising skam). Cupla extra hundred spent on odds/ends and it'd be right as rain.
