Has anyone done their own alternator brushes?

Cannot find any information on how to do on web

But i assume it is unsolder then clean up then re-solder allowing a max of 10mm to stick out

That's about it Clive. After you pull the old brushes out run a 1/16 drill through to make the hole big enough and most auto electricians will have the brushes for about $5

important thing to add clive ,,,don't tell them its for a motor bike ....but for a vw ....then all will be available and well known by the auto electrician
